RIE SENSUI

   Rie Sensui was born in Japan. She started Ballet at the age of three. In 1993, she entered Ochanomizu-University in Tokyo and majored in Modern dance, where she also continued her study to get her M.A.degree. Rie studied Ballet and Contemporary dance with Bonjin Atugi. She joined Akiko Kitamura's Contemporary dance company ('Leni-Basso') as well as performed works of Yasuko Kataoka and Makiko Nakano in Indonesia. In 2000, she joined Contemporary dance company 'H.Art.chaos' with whom she performed in Singapore, Russia, Finland, and Poland. In 2005, she received a scholarship from the Japanese government to study in New York for two years. She is currently a student at Peridance Center. While in New York, Rie has been working with Nina Buisson and Heather Inglis.
