Leonardo Filippelli Leonardo Filippelli is originally from Tuscany, Italy. He started training in Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Contemporary Dance, studying with Bruno Collinet, Mauro Astolfi, Wayne Barbaste, and Eugenio Buratti. Since he moved to New York, Leonardo studied at Alvin Ailey American Dance Center where he studied different techniques :Ballet, Horton, Jazz, and West African Dance . His professional dance experience includes an Italian tour with Daedalus Dance Company, showcase performances at Kimmel Center (New York University), "Three" with the Saba Dance Theater Company at the French Institute Theatre in New York, and an Italian show of "Danziamo Danzeranno" at Regio Theater of Turin, choreographed by Max Luna III. He also danced as a first dancer for Dance Factory Company in "a Tribute to Leonardo Da Vinci". In 2006, he won the first awards at the 5th Edition of Professional Choreographer Composition in Rome . In 2004, Leonardo joined the Nina Buisson Contemporary Move family, while working on other collaborations with Max Luna III and David Storey. He is also currently performing with the David Kieffer Dance Theater. |
