Heather Inglis
Heather began her dance studies in England, focusing
on Ballet, Tap and Modern dance. At the age of 17, she
became the Assistant Teacher of the Head of the
Suzanne
School of Dance, where she worked with children's
classes.
Soon after, Heather successfully completed her
A-levels in
English Literature, Communication Studies and
Performing Arts at Peter Symonds College, in
Winchester, England. In 2003, she attained a Bachelor
Of Arts Degree in Dance Studies at Roehampton
University Institute in London.
Since moving to New York in 2004, Heather pursued
dance studies at Peridance Center, training with Jim
May, Nina Buisson, Saba, Matthew Neff, among others.
Heather has worked as Rehearsal Director/Assistant for
Saba Dance Theater in which the Company performed at
the French Institute, Solar 1 festival, amongst
others.
Currently Heather is assisting with Nina Buisson
Contemporary Move. With Ms Buisson, Heather has
assisted with numerous master class series at various
venues including Steps, and the Peridance National
Teen Intensive.
She teaches a weekly Contemporary Dance class at PMT
Dance Studios. In addition to her teaching position at
PMT, Heather has subbed various classes in New York
City, including Peridance and Ballet Arts
Separately, Heather choreographs dance works on an
ongoing basis. She has performed and presented her
choreography in
London, specifically Sadlers Wells, and The Barbican,
and various venues in New York City including, Martin
Luther King Auditorium, and the Preludes to Dance
Festival in Brooklyn.
