Danita Shaheen

    Danita Shaheen is originally from Albany, NY where she was classically trained in ballet. Under the direction of former New York City Ballet soloist David Otto she performed original works with the Capital Ballet Company. She has spent her summers doing intensive training with Boston Ballet, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, David Parsons, and the River North Chicago. She recieved her BFA from Marymount Manhattan College and graduated with honors. Since then she has been performing with the Octavia Cup Dance Theater throughout the New York region. She has collaborated with such choreographers as Laura Ward, Christopher Campbell and Jason Melms. Danita is also the artistic director of the Alternative Arts Association which premered in the Spring of 2006.
